Our Values:

  • Networking, not hierarchy
  • Assets, not just needs
  • Wellness, not just illness
  • Outcomes, not just outputs
  • Empowering people, not creating clients
  • Inclusivity, not exclusivity
  • Self-sustaining, not just grant-sustained
  • Justice, not just charity
  • Spirituality, not just religion

Norton Neighborhoods is focused on improving health and quality of life around the San Bernardino and Highland neighborhoods through Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) programs. Rather than focusing on needs and deficits, we look to the assets and gifts of individuals, families and neighborhoods, so that we may build on the networks, skills, abilities and relationships that already exist in the community.

As a part of the Association for Community Health Impovement, we pursue projects related to cultural competence and diversity, outcomes measurements, after school programs (especially tutoring and mentoring), local transportation, housing, food, security, safety, nutrition and fitness. We assist in forming grass-roots Neighborhood Associations while striving to make our projects culturally, ethnically, and linguistically appropriate.
